Grinnell defense comes up big again against Ripon on Senior Day

GRINNELL, Iowa - Playing on a wildly windy Senior Day, Grinnell College's defense came up big again as the Pioneer women's soccer team earned a 0-all tie with Ripon College Saturday at Springer Field.

Grinnell, which collected its sixth shutout of the season and second in Midwest Conference play, moved to 3-5-3 overall and 0-1-2 in the league. Ripon is 2-6-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference.

The Pioneers more than doubled the shots total of the visitors, outshooting them 13-6 including 9-3 in shots on goal. Additionally, Grinnell held a 10-5 edge in corners.

Grinnell keeper Peyton Dixon '27 made three saves while posting her fifth shutout of the season and 23rd in her career.

On the shots front, Teya Lochridge '29 led Grinnell with four and Zoe Kunzman '28, Campbell Swaim '28, Ramona Delborne '26 and Maya Mozena '28 added two each. Keiko Smith '26 contributed one save.

Grinnell travels to Mount Vernon on Wednesday to face Cornell College in MWC play. Action begins at 4 p.m.
