Pioneer athletes post career-best scores on final day of Grinnell Diving Invite

GRINNELL, Iowa - Career-best performances were attained by all four Grinnell College participants on the 1-meter board at the Grinnell Diving Invite Sunday morning.

Alex Kruse '29 led the way for the Pioneers, tallying a score of 384.70 at Russell K. Osgood Natatorium. That was not only good for third place, but ranks 10th in program history.

Next in line for the Pioneers were Bella Nesbeth '26 and Jane Markovitz '26, who placed seventh and eighth, respectively. Nesbeth scored a 300.25 and Markovitz had a 297.15. Evelyn Deutsch '29 rounded out the Pioneer divers, taking 11th with a score of 296.10.

Shanze Karimi of Washington University-St. Louis won the event with a 454.15.
