GRINNELL, Iowa - Four more event victories, including a school-record performance and NCAA "B" cut by senior star Sophia Carroll '25, lifted Grinnell College closer to another Midwest Conference women's swimming and diving team title Saturday.

Carroll dominated the 200-yard freestyle at Russell K. Osgood Pool, winning the event in 1 minute, 52.11 seconds. That bettered her own school record of 1:53.22 set in 2023 and bettered the "B" standard by .06 of a second.

Sarah Lopez '26 won two events and set a school record in another to complement Carroll's efforts. Her school record came in the 100 butterfly, where her runner-up time of 56.46 bettered Camryn Gonzales' '25 record of 56.71 set in 2023.

Lopez also won the 100 backstroke in 57.69, the second-best time in program history, and teamed with Bella Takata '28, Gonzales and Ciara Vogler '26 to win the 200 medley relay in 1:46.63. That time is third in GC history.

The Pioneers' other victory Saturday came from Takata in the 100 breaststroke. Her time of 1:06.44 is sixth all-time at Grinnell.

Grinnell has 596 points through Saturday's action, putting the Pioneers more than 120 ahead of runner-up St. Norbert College.

Carroll and Gonzales each have 14 victories in their careers, while Vogler moved up to 10 and Lopez is at nine.

Grinnell's other runner-up besides Lopez was Vivian Woare '28 in the 400 individual medley. She finished in 4:40.22, which ranks ninth all-time.

Third-place finishers were Eva Cuevas '25 in the 400 individual medley (4:41.78), Samantha Cook '27 in the 200 freestyle (1:55.12), Joely Kam '28 in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.81) and Molly Ryan '27 in the 100 backstroke (58.83, fourth all-time at GC).

Gonzales placed fourth in the 100 butterfly in 57.46, while fifth place went to Natasha Zettler '27 in the 400 individual medley (4:47.51, 18th all-time), Aliya Swearngin '25 in the 200 freestyle (1:57.72, ninth all-time) and Olivia Pluska '25 in the 100 backstroke (1:00.22, eighth all-time).

Vogler was sixth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.48, which ranks 16th at GC. Cuevas was seventh in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.50 and Sophie Juethner '26 had the same placing in the 100 backstroke in 1:01.31. Josephine Hopkins '28 took eighth in the 200 freestyle in 2:01.26.
