GRINNELL, Iowa - Another big day propelled the Grinnell College women's swimming and diving team to yet another Midwest Conference title.

The Pioneers piled up 929 points, their highest total since 2019, on their way to a fourth consecutive league crown. They have won 24 of the last 26 titles. St. Norbert College was a distant second with 696 points.

Grinnell crowned a pair of event champs Sunday at Russell K. Osgood Pool, including Sarah Lopez's '26 dominating effort in the 200-yard butterfly. She won the race in 2 minutes, 4.06 seconds to break her own MWC, meet and school records of 2:05.83 from last year. That time was also an NCAA "B" cut and qualified for last year's NCAA Championships.

The Pioneers finished off the night in amazing fashion, as Sophia Carroll '25, Camryn Gonzales '25, Ciara Vogler '26 and Samantha Cook '27 won the 400 freestyle relay in a MWC, meet and school record time of 3:30.91. The previous marks were 3:32.60 set a decade ago.

Carroll broke her own 100 freestyle school record of 52.76, set earlier this season, by earning a runner-up clocking of 52.42. Also placing second were Megan Gawlick '28 in the 1650 freestyle (18:13.98, eighth all-time at GC), Molly Ryan '27 in the 200 backstroke (2:07.65) and Joely Kam '28 in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.32).

Grinnell got third-place finishes from Bella Takata '28 in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.35) and Vivian Woare '28 in the 200 butterfly (2:11.01, seventh all-time). Taking fourth were Natasha Zettler '27 in the 1650 freestyle (18:32.39, 14th all-time), Woare in the 200 backstroke (2:10.31, seventh all-time), Gonzales in the 100 freestyle (53.54) and Eva Cuevas '25 in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.60).

Fifth place went to Olivia Pluska '25 in the 200 backstroke (2:12.55), Vogler in the 100 freestyle (53.68) and Zettler in the 200 butterfly (2:17.49). Taking sixth were Josephine Hopkins '28 in the 1650 freestyle (18:36.40, 17th all-time), Cook in the 100 freestyle (53.81) and Gawlick in the 200 butterfly (2:23.05).

Also for Grinnell, Aliya Swearngin '25 swam the 100 freestyle in 54.21, which ranks 16th all-time, and Maya Comer's '28 200 breaststroke time of 2:32.36 is 18th.
