Carroll tops own record in 100 freestyle at last chance meet

GRINNELL, Iowa - Sophia Carroll '25 tuned up for the Midwest Conference Championships by toppling her own Grinnell College women's swimming and diving record in the 100-yard freestyle Saturday.

Carroll swam the race in a last chance meet at Russell K. Osgood Natatorium in 52.76 seconds, beating her previous best by .03 of a second. The previous mark was also established this season.

Vivian Woare '28 swam the 200 butterfly in 2:13.06, which ranks 11th in program history, and her time of 4:43.80 in the 400 individual medley is 12th all-time.
