Grinnell women's swimming and diving team claims 6 events at Macalester

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Grinnell College's women's swimming and diving team posted a half-dozen victories in Saturday's swim dual at Macalester College.

Highlighting the Grinnell winners at the meet was Alex Kruse '29, who claimed 1- and 3-meter diving with scores of 390.40 and 246.50, respectively. The 3-meter score ranks seventh in GC history and the 1-meter tally is 10th.

Sarah Lopez '26 won the 100 butterfly in 1:01.36 and 200 individual medley in 2:14.40. Other champs were Nina Lyons '29 in the 1000 freestyle (11:09.58) and Joely Kam '28 in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.15).

The Pioneers were second in the 200 medley relay with Lopez, Tory Morse '29, Simone Bennett '29 and Sophie Juethner '26 (1:54.73) and 400 freestyle relay with Greta Dunn '26, Juethner, Morse and Lyons (3:50.54).

Individual runners-up were Zeb O'Hara '28 in the 500 and 1000 freestyles (5:24.00 and 11:18.35), Maya Comer '28 in the 200 freestyle (2:05.58), Lopez in the 100 backstroke (1:04.49), Kam in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.04), Vivian Woare '28 in the 100 and 200 butterfly (1:01.79 and 2:16.09), Juethner in the 50 freestyle (25.74) and Bennett in the 200 backstroke (2:14.52).

Macalester edged Grinnell for the team title 153-145.

The Pioneers travel to St. Ambrose University next Saturday.
