Grinnell again leads the Midwest Conference in Academic All-Conference selections

Pioneers were tops in the league in 11 of 18 sponsored sports

GRINNELL, Iowa – For the ninth time in the last 10 years, Grinnell College has led all league schools in Midwest Conference All-Academic Team honorees with 343.

Grinnell's total in the 2025-26 academic year consisted of 407 actual awards, with some student-athletes earning Academic All-Conference honors in multiple sports. Ripon College was a distant second to Grinnell with 263 selections, followed by Lake Forest College with 252.

The criteria to become an Academic All-Conference selection includes a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.33 which is calculated only in the awarded academic year. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors who letter in any of the MWC's fall, winter or spring sports are eligible for the award.
 
Grinnell's dominance can be seen in the fact the Pioneers led the league in Academic All-Conference selections in 11 of the 18 sponsored sports. Those included men's cross country (19), women's cross country (22), women's tennis (16), men's basketball (15), men's indoor track and field (40), women's indoor track and field (35), men's swimming and diving (16), women's swimming and diving (27), men's tennis (13), men's outdoor track and field (36) and women's outdoor track and field (35).
 
The Pioneers also had the most Academic All-Conference selections in all three sports seasons, with 134 in the fall, 147 in the winter and 126 in the spring.
