Grinnell uses pack attack for strong finish at Dutch Invite

PELLA, Iowa - Grinnell College's men's cross country team featured a strong pack attack in the season-opening Dutch Invite hosted by Central College Friday night.

Jack Lakin '29 led the charge for the Pioneers, placing ninth on the 6-kilometer course in 20 minutes, 00.4 seconds. Other Grinnell scorers were Leif Dahl '29 (10th in the 80-runner field in 20:09.7), Greyson Imm '28 (11th in 20:12.8), Milo Flores '30 (12th in 20:53.0) and Sebastian Manza '27 (13th in 21:01.9).

Also for the Pioneers, Henry Pickert '30 and Sam Beck '27 were 14th and 15th in 21:12.2 and 21:24.7, respectively.

William Wadsley of Central won the individual title in 19:35.0. Grinnell was second in the team standings with 55 points. Central was first with 15.

Grinnell hosts its annual Les Duke Invitational next Saturday.
