Born in Washington to the parents Teresa and Matt, and has one sibling, Elliott. He graduated from Columbia River High School in 2015.

While participating in swimming, he earned Oregon Swimming Top 5 Swimmer honors from 2012-2015, wsa voted Most Valuable by his swim team in 2012, and was also voted most Inspirational in 2014.
College:
2018: Midwest Conference champion in 400 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay … Academic All-Conference.
2017: Midwest Conference champion in 200 freestyle and 800 free relay … Academic All-Conference.
