Grinnell College Spring Sport 2021 Spectator Policy
Last week, Grinnell College announced the return of varsity athletic competitions for the 2021 spring sport season. All of these varsity programs compete outdoors, and includes softball, baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field.
Aligning with a phased increase in activities while also continuing our focus on community health, we are announcing a limited return of spectators to these varsity athletic competitions. For the 2021 spring sport season, the following guidelines will apply for spectators:
*Grinnell College faculty/staff/students only. Members of faculty and staff households are permitted as well.
*No visiting team fans.
*No family members of Grinnell College student-athletes. Webcasts will be available for all home events, except for golf.
*No media outside of Grinnell College faculty/staff/students.
*Masks are required when within 6 feet of others.
*Social distancing is required.
*Those in attendance will not be permitted to interact with the student-athletes, coaches, or game officials. Access to the fields will not be permitted.
*Rosters/Game Days will be digital only via QR codes at the venue and posted online.
*No concessions – we ask that spectators refrain from bringing/eating food at the events.
Should Grinnell College host any MWC Championships this spring, per MWC policy, there will be no spectators admitted to those events.
