Graduated from Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School, where he participated in cross country and track and field … in cross country, was four-time All-Conference, fifth at IHSA Regionals, ninth at IHSA Sectionals, state qualifier and two-time team captain … in track and field, was Chocolate Milk Mile champ of the first and third annual events, part of school-record 4x800-meter relay, fourth in 4x800 relay at indoor state meet and 1600 and 3200 conference champ and state qualifier … aside from athletics, was Valedictorian and member of National Honor Society.
