Born in Illinois … son of John and Clarissa Kolmer … has two siblings, Neil and Zhi Yu Kolmer.
 
High School:
Graduated from Richwoods High School, where he participated in soccer, football, basketball and swimming … was first-team All-Conference, IHSSCA first-team All-Sectional, All-Metro honorable mention, Peoria Area All-Star and member of the Varsity Club of Richwoods … had 22 career shutouts, including 12 as a senior with a 0.87 goals against average … aside from athletics, graduated Cum Laude and was IB Diploma recipient, Scholar Athlete of the Year, Illinois State Scholar and National Honor Society member.
