Grinnell College Athletics

Jani Springer will be coming out of retirement to co-coach the Grinnell divers. A graduate of Springfield College (Mass), Springer was an NCAA Division III dual sport student-athlete. She competed in springboard diving and track and field. During her time at Springfield, Springer earned a degree in athletic training. She then returned to her home state of Connecticut and was the athletic trainer at Bulkeley High School. At Bulkeley, Springer also coached diving and track. While pursuing her master’s in education, Springer served as the lead diving coach at Bethany College (W.V.).

Prior to Grinnell, Springer was the Head Athletic Trainer and Senior Woman Administrator at Bluefield State University. There, she played an integral role in the athletics department’s expansion including the addition of 10 Division II athletic teams. Upon her arrival to Grinnell, Springer transitioned out of athletic training and now serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Student Success.
