Graduated from Pleasant Valley High School, where he participated in swimming … was elected captain two years, was a two-time State qualifier in 100 breaststroke and made All-Academic Swim Team … aside from athletics, won the Iowa High School Musical Theater Award and Outstanding Achievement in a Principal Role as Man in Chair in “The Drowsy Chaperone.”
