Michael Keeran

Michael Keeran joined the Grinnell College softball staff in August 2017.

Keeran played collegiate baseball at Waldorf University as a four-year starting pitcher and outfielder.  He was a back-to-back North Star All-Conference selection in 2016 and 2017 and was named Academic All-Conference all four years.

In the 2016 season, he won the North Star Conference batting title. Keeran concluded his career with a batting average of .370, including a .444 average in 2016.  He also holds 15 school records at Waldorf in categories including hitting (hits, batting average, on base percentage, runs, and stolen bases) and pitching (games started, innings pitched, wins, and strikeouts), and is in the top five in over 50 school records categories,  Keeran was named an NAIA Academic All-American his senior season. 

Following graduation, Keeran was a starting outfielder for the Ozark Generals of the MINK League.  He was in the top three on his team in numerous offensive categories. 

Keeran has also been the assistant baseball coach the past four years at Clear Lake High School, where he was also an All-State baseball and football player his senior year.  During his four seasons as an assistant, the team won three Iowa High School State Championships and had highs in team batting averages.  Nine players have gone on to play collegiately the last four seasons. 

Keeran will take on roles within the Pioneer staff involving the outfield, offense, strength and agility and game analysis.
