Born in Minnesota … parents are Gretchen Lund and Jeff Weiss … has two siblings, Peter and Johnny.

Graduated from Richfield High School and participated in cross country, mountain biking, Nordic skiing and track and field … was All-Conference honor mention in Nordic skiing … aside from athletics, graduated in top five percent from Spanish program.
