Grinnell College’s Kayla Morrissey ’18 has been named the Midwest Conference Softball Hitter of the Week.
 
Morrissey, a 5-10 catcher/third baseman from Burr Ridge, Ill. (Lyons Township North), had a stellar week which included a school-record performance. In a contest against Greenville College, Morrissey tied the Pioneer record for hits in a game by going 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs.
 
She also belted the first homer of her collegiate career in the contest. In five games during the week, Morrissey hit a sizzling .556 with a .944 slugging percentage.
