Will Lindell ’19 of Grinnell College has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week for the first time in his career.

This marks the fifth time this season a Pioneer has won the award. This week also marks a Grinnell sweep, as Beth Tsuha ’17 won the honor on the women’s side.

Lindell, from Edina, Minn. (Edina), had a huge hand in helping the Pioneers defend their team title at the Grinnell Invitational over the weekend. He claimed victory in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:10.78 and was third in the 400 individual medley in 4:20.15 and 100 breaststroke in 59.88.

He also swam on the third-place 400 medley relay team that had a clocking of 3:37.32. The Pioneers piled up 1,047.5 points to beat the runner-up by more than 150 points.
