Grinnell College Athletics

For the second week in a row, Grinnell College's Matt Lieberman '21 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week.

Lieberman, from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Pioneer), raced his way onto Grinnell's all-time career-best list with a stellar effort at the Augustana College Brissman-Lundeen Invitational Friday. He finished the 8-kilometer event in 25 minutes, 43.2 seconds to place 11th of 320 runners.

Lieberman's time ranks 26th in Pioneer history as he beat a runner who had the top time in the conference while moving into that spot himself. Lieberman's efforts helped Grinnell to a ninth-place finish in the highly-competitive 23-team field.
