For the second time this season, Grinnell College's Jasper Yang '22 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Performer of the Week.
Yang, a midfielder/forward from Stow, Mass. (Nashoba Regional), was the offensive star as the Pioneers came away with a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory in their MWC opener against Illinois College. Yang scored on a header off a corner kick 13 minutes into the second half to tie the game.
Then, just three minutes into the extra period, Ryota Matsunaga '24 played a ball to the chest of Yang, who turned and struck it past the diving goalkeeper into the bottom left corner of the net. Yang now has nine goals on the season to lead the MWC.
