Grinnell College's Emily Brewer '24, who recently reached the 2,000-assist mark for her career, has been recognized as the Midwest Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Brewer, a setter from Fishers, Ind. (Fishers), helped Grinnell go 2-1 during the week. The Pioneers beat Central College, snapping a 12-match losing streak in the Dutch's gym dating back to 1977, and Carleton College while losing to nationally-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College.
 
Brewer averaged 10 assists and 0.6 aces per set in the matches, helping Grinnell's offense move into the top spot in the MWC for hitting efficiency. Brewer is just the sixth player in Pioneer history to surpass 2,000 assists.
