GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College men's tennis split squad lost a hard-fought, five-hour 6-3 decision to Wartburg College Saturday at the Charles Benson Bear '39 Recreation and Athletic Center.

Charlie Wilhelm '15 was a two-time winner for Grinnell, including a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 1 singles. He also teamed with Beau Bressler '16 to post an 8-5 decision at No. 3 doubles.

Grinnell's other win came from Sam Catanzaro '16, who won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.

The Pioneers, who also had team members playing in a tournament at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater this weekend, are 6-2 on the season while Wartburg improved to 3-1.

The Pioneers host Lake Forest College and Knox College next Saturday, with the Lake Forest contest slated for 8:30 a.m. and the match with Knox for 4:30 p.m.  Lake Forest and Knox will play at 12:30 p.m.
