Grinnell men's tennis team seeks 10th MWC title in a row

MADISON, Wis. – The Grinnell College men's tennis team will seeks its 10th Midwest Conference title in a row Friday when it competes at the league meet at the Nielsen Tennis Center.

Grinnell, the top seed from the South Division, will take on No. 2 North seed Carroll University at 8:30 a.m. Grinnell won its 13th MWC South Division title in a row last weekend while extending its winning streak in divisional play to 51 matches, dating back to 2000. The Pioneers are 20-11 overall, while Carroll brings a 12-7 mark into the match.

The two teams met in February, with Grinnell taking away a 7-2 victory. In the other semifinal, No. 2 South seed Monmouth College faces the top team from the North, Lawrence University.

The semifinalists will play for the title at 1:30 p.m.

The tourney continues Saturday with singles play, and concludes Sunday with doubles action.
