OWATONNA, Minn. – The Grinnell College men's tennis team swept a pair of duals Saturday, beating Augustana (S.D.) 5-4 and St. John's University 7-2.

In the win over Augustana, Grinnell got wins from Emilio Gomez '15 at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-1), Charlie Wilhelm '15 at No. 4 (6-4, 6-1) and Rob Storrick '15 at No. 5 (6-2, 6-1). The Pioneers also got forfeit victories at No. 6 singles and N. 3 doubles.

Grinnell swept doubles play against St. John's, with wins coming from Elliott Czarnecki '15-Tommy Pitcher '17 at No. 1 (8-3), Tracy Johnson '16-Gomez at No. 2 (8-3) and Cole Miller '17-C.J. Ray '16 at No. 3 (8-6).

Czarnecki won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while wins at Nos. 4 through 6 came from Pitcher (7-6, 6-0), Johnson (6-3, 7-5) and Wilhelm (6-1, 6-4).

The Pioneers play Augustana (Ill.) and St. Ambrose University this coming Saturday in Rock Island, Ill.
