Grinnell seeks 11th Midwest Conference men's tennis title in a row

MADISON, Wis. – The Grinnell College men's tennis team will seek its 11th Midwest Conference title in a row this weekend when the league meet takes place in the Nielsen Tennis Center.
 
The Pioneers, 29-5 overall and 4-0 in the MWC South Division, are the top seed from the South and will play Lake Forest College in the semifinals at 8:30 a.m. Friday. The Foresters, the No. 2 seed from the North, are 13-12 overall and went 3-1 in divisional play.
 
Carroll University, the top seed from the North, will take on Monmouth College in the other semifinal. Carroll is 9-10 overall and went 4-0 in divisional play. The Fighting Scots, the second seed from the South, are 12-12 overall and were 3-1 in the division.
 
The semifinal winners meet at 1:30 p.m. for the title.
 
The tournament then moves to individual play, where singles competition is slated for Saturday and doubles on Sunday.
