JACKSONVILLE, Ill. –
Nicholas Brule found the back of the net in overtime to propel the Grinnell College men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory at Illinois College on Saturday.
The goal came from 2 yards out following a cross from
Evan Sorenson in the 99th minute.
Grinnell got out to a 2-1 lead in the first half, when Antonio Dimarco scored in the fourth minute and Curiskis in the 25th minute.
Dimarco's goal was assisted by Curiskis on a rebound and Curiskis's goal was assisted by Dimarco and
Michael Hurley following a rebound after a blocked shot off a corner.
Grinnell won the shots battle 15-7, with Curiskis taking five, Hurley four and Dimarco and Brule two each.
Major May had one save as keeper for the Pioneers, who are now 6-3 in the Midwest Conference and 8-7 overall. Illinois College fell to 3-4-1 in the league and 9-6-1 overall.
