INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Grinnell College men's basketball team lost a 103-80 decision at Simpson College Tuesday night.
Grinnell, 3-2 on the season, rode a balanced scoring attack sparked by
Danny Thomas '18, who hit 4-of-4 shots from 3-point land while scoring 13 points.
Jacob Ekstrand '18 and
Vinny Curta '19 had 12 points each,
Matt Jasaitis '18 had 11 and
Julian Marx '17 and
Braedon Bayer '18 had 10 apiece.
Marx also had three assists, Jasaitis tallied two steals and Thomas and
Jake Van Oort '18 grabbed six boards apiece.
The winners, who are 2-2, got out to a 64-40 halftime lead and held on from there.
Grinnell opens Midwest Conference play Saturday against Beloit College in Darby Gymnasium. Game time is 1 p.m.
