Tournament PageMADISON, Wis. – The Grinnell College men's tennis team will take aim at winning its 12th Midwest Conference title in a row Friday when it faces Carroll University in the league tournament semifinals.
Grinnell, 26-10 overall and ranked 17th in the Central Region, is the top seed with a 9-0 MWC mark. Carroll, the fourth seed, is 11-10 overall and 6-3 in the league.
In the other semifinal, second-seeded Monmouth College (15-9, 8-1 MWC) takes on third seed Lake Forest College (13-11, 7-2).
The winners meet at 2 p.m. for the title and the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
Last weekend, Grinnell won its 64th MWC match in a row and 114th consecutive contest against a league foe in a streak dating back to 2002.
Following the team tournament, singles flighted play will take place Saturday, with doubles set for Sunday.
