WAVERLY, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's soccer team grabbed the early lead before host Wartburg College rallied for a pair of goals to post a 2-1 victory Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams.
Grinnell got on the board in the 14th minute on an own goal before Wartburg scored in the 28th minute to make it a 1-all tie at halftime. There were no more goals until the hosts scored in the 83rd minute.
Grinnell had seven shots in the game, including two by

Katy Oldach '16 had a valiant effort by turning away 13 Wartburg shots.
The Pioneers entertain another Iowa Conference team, Simpson College, Saturday at Springer Field. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
