BELOIT, Wis. – Having dominated its recent series against Beloit College, the Grinnell College volleyball team added to that string Friday night.
Grinnell swept the Buccaneers 25-18, 25-11 and 25-13 in Midwest Conference action, marking the Pioneers' sixth consecutive victory over Beloit going back to the 2011 season.

Margaret Giles '18 reached a milestone when she moved into the No. 5 spot on the Pioneers' all-time assists chart. She had 31 Friday, giving her 1,622 for her career.
Grinnell moved to 2-1 in the Midwest Conference, its best start to league play since 2011, while improving to 9-8 overall. Beloit is also 9-8 overall and dipped to 0-2 in the MWC.
The Pioneers had another stellar night at the net, hitting at a .330 efficiency. Leading that charge were two performances that ranked among program-bests.
Emily Friedman '19 hit .481 with 13 kills and no errors on 27 attacks, while
Olivia Fromm '17 had 11 kills and one error in 23 tries for a .435 efficiency.
Sydney Vrecenar '18 had 20 digs and Fromm 17. Vrecenar also served up two aces.
The first set was tied 10-all when the Pioneers opened things up with an 8-2 run.
Deanna Taylor '18 served four of those points and Friedman had two kills as the Pioneers went on to win easily.
The second set was never in question, as the Pioneers scored the first five points thanks to a three-point service run by Friedman and two kills by Fromm. Beloit never got closer than three after that.
In the third set, Beloit led 7-6 when Grinnell all but secured the set – and match – with 10 consecutive points. Vrecenar served eight of those points, while Friedman had two kills and
Evelyn Weidman '17 one.
The Pioneers play another MWC contest Saturday at Lake Forest College. Match time is 1 p.m.
