GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College women's soccer team dominated unbeaten Knox College on the field Saturday, but came up just short on the scoreboard with a 1-0 setback at Springer Field.
The Pioneers put up a stellar defensive front while also easily winning the shots battle 11-4 in the Midwest Conference affair.
The lone goal came just over a minute into the contest. After that, action was contested most of the time on the Pioneers' offensive side of the field.
Sangjun Hornewer '20 had three of Grinnell's shots, while
Carolyn Silverman '17 and
Jordan Maddaus '19 had two apiece.

Lauren Hurley '18,
Hannah Truesdale '17 and
Sasha Baumann '17 added one each.
Regan Kasprak '19 was the keeper for Grinnell as the Pioneers mostly shut down a team averaging nearly four goals a game.
Grinnell is now 2-2-1 in the MWC and 4-6-2 overall, while Knox moved to 5-0-0 in league play and 13-0-1 overall.
