Road victories at Lawrence University, Ripon College and St. Norbert College gave Grinnell an unblemished 9-0 mark in Midwest Conference play entering this weekend's Midwest Conference Championships.

At Lawrence, the 27-5 Pioneers used a doubles sweep to set the tone for the match and then took five out of six singles matches for an 8-1 victory. "We were forced to turn to our depth a little today, but depth is our strength," offered Coach

Grinnell won all three doubles matches via the teams of

Tracy Johnson-
Sam Stickels. In singles, Grinnell won at the second through sixth spots with Ray, Johnson, Stickels, Pitcher and
Bryson Cale.

At Ripon, the Pioneers blanked their hosts, 9-0. The Pioneers won in doubles with the teams of Johnson-Stickels and Pitcher-Cale. In singles, wins came from Ray, Johnson, Stickels, Cale and
Sam Catanzaro.

On Sunday, Grinnell beat St. Norbert 8-1 with doubles wins from Ray-Miller, Johnson-Stickels and Pitcher-Cale. Grinnell won two through six singles with Johnson, Stickels, Pitcher, Catanzaro and Cale. Grinnell enters the Midwest Conference tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face Lawrence, the No. 4 seed, in the semi-finals.
