DE PERE, Wis. – Despite winning the shots battle 15-13, the Grinnell College women's soccer team lost a 4-1 decision to St. Norbert College Saturday in Midwest Conference play.
The Green Knights, who remained unbeaten in league competition, got off to a 3-0 halftime lead.
Grinnell got its goal in the 57th minute on a shot by
Kitt Richards '18, her second goal of the year and sixth of her career. It was assisted by
Lauren Edwards '20, her first assist of the season.
Richards fired off six shots for the Pioneers, who are 3-2 in the MWC and 6-6 overall, while
Jordan Maddaus '19 and Edwards took two each and
Valencia Alvarez '20,
Gwen Holtzman '19,
Juliet Torres '19,
LilyRose Weiss '18 and
Issy Schwiebert '21 had one apiece.
Regan Kasprak '19 and
Elizabeth Hunt '21 split time at keeper for Grinnell, with Kasprak making three saves.
St. Norbert improved to 5-0-1 in the MWC and 10-4-1 with the win.
The Pioneers play Lawrence University Sunday in Appleton, Wis., at 1 p.m.
