GALESBURG, Ill. – The Grinnell College men's soccer team played even-up with regionally-ranked Knox College Saturday afternoon, but in the end the Prairie Fire eked out a 2-0 victory.
Knox got a penalty kick in the second minute and another goal in the 22nd minute to emerge victorious.
The shots battle was a dead heat, with each team taking 11.
Evan Sorenson '19 had three of Grinnell's shots,
Jasper Yang '21 took two and taking one each were

Juan Marin '18,
Papa Kojo Ampim-Darko '19 and
Matt Record '20.
Jared Cloutier '20 and
Michael Spicer '21 shared time at keeper for Grinnell. Spicer made five saves.
Grinnell is now 3-2 in the Midwest Conference and 5-7-1 overall, while Knox moved to 4-0 in league play and 9-2-3 in all games.
The Pioneers travel north next weekend for contests at St. Norbert College and Lawrence University.
