SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Grinnell College men's tennis team wrapped up a stellar season Friday afternoon with a 5-0 setback to nationally-ranked Coe College in the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

The season saw many milestones, including the Pioneers winning their 14th Midwest Conference title in a row and 15th in the last 16 seasons. Grinnell finished 18-10, marking the 14th year in a row the Pioneers have won at least 18 matches.

Additionally, the Pioneers extended their winning streak against league opponents to 135 matches, dating back to 2002.

Grinnell – ranked 20th in the region - was competitive in all of Friday's doubles matches, particularly No. 3 where
Will Hamilton '17 and
Ben Cobin '20 lost 9-8.

Coe, ranked 35th in the nation and seventh regionally, wrapped up the win with decisions at Nos. 4 and 5 singles.

Cole Miller '17 and
Tommy Pitcher '17 finished their careers ranked among Grinnell's best. Miller's 85 doubles wins are fifth-most in program history and Pitcher's 79 are ninth. In singles, Miller's 73 career wins rank ninth and Pitcher's 69 are 11th.
