DE PERE, Wis. - Grinnell College's men's soccer team put up a great fight at nationally-ranked St. Norbert College Sunday before losing 2-0 in Midwest Conference play.
Grinnell battled the 12th-ranked Green Knights to a scoreless tie the first 30 minutes before the hosts got on the board in the 31st minute. The Green Knights, ranked fourth in the North Region, added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute while staying unbeaten at 13-0-1 overall and 6-0 in the league.
Grinnell recorded three shots in the contest, those coming from
Mikoto Kobayashi '20,
Jasper Yang '21 and
Ray Goedeker '22.
Jared Cloutier '20 had another strong performance at keeper with three saves.
The Pioneers, 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the MWC, return to Springer Field next Saturday for a noon date with Monmouth College.
