OWATONNA, Minn. - Grinnell College's men's tennis team took care of business in doubles, and then finished things off with some dramatic singles victories in a 9-0 blanking of Macalester College Sunday.
The Pioneers got 8-6 wins in doubles from the Nos. 1 and 3 teams of
Sriram Sugumaran '21-
Ben Cobin '20 and
Ishaan Tibrewal '21-
Zach Lane '19, and an 8-4 victory at the second spot with
Michael Conlin-Brandenburg '21 and
George Kaslow '21.Â
The Pioneers added thrilling three-set singles wins at the top three spots with Sugumaran (7-6, 4-6, 12-10), Lane (0-6, 6-1, 6-4) and Cobin (2-6, 7-6, 10-3).
Conlin-Brandenburg won 7-6, 6-0 at No. 4, Tibrewal posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5 and
Henry Johnson '20 won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 6.
Grinnell is now 4-2 on the season, while Macalester dipped to 1-2.
