MWC Men's Team Tournament
MADISON, Wis. - Grinnell College's men's tennis team is looking to win its 15th Midwest Conference title in a row, and 16th in the past 17 seasons, when it competes in the four-team MWC Team Tournament Friday at Nielsen Tennis Center.
The Pioneers, ranked 17th in the Central Region, finished league play with a perfect 8-0 mark and are 20-4 overall. As the top seed, they will play fourth-seeded Monmouth College at 10 a.m. Grinnell shut down the Fighting Scots, who are 4-4 in the MWC and 6-12 overall, by a 9-0 score Saturday.
The other semifinal pits second-seeded Lake Forest College and third-seeded Lawrence University. The semifinal winners meet at 2:30 p.m., with that winner earning a trip to the NCAA Division III National Tournament. A tournament title would give Grinnell its 12th consecutive trip to the NCAAs.
