MADISON, Wis. – Grinnell College's men's tennis dominance was on display again at the Midwest Conference Tournament, as the Pioneers claimed their 15th league title in a row and 16th in the last 17 years with a pair of 5-0 wins at Nielsen Tennis Center.

With the title, Grinnell also earned a spot in the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the 12th year in a row while improving to 22-4 overall. That win total ranks eighth in program history as the Pioneers have now won 20 MWC titles.

On top of all that, the Central Region's 14th-ranked team stretched its winning streak against league foes to 145 matches dating back to 2001.

The Pioneers knocked off Lake Forest College in the championship match. Getting Grinnell out to a 3-0 lead after doubles were the teams of
Sam Stickels '19-
Michael Conlin-Brandenburg '21 (8-6 win),
Ben Cobin '20-
George Kaslow '21 (9-7) and
Ishaan Tibrewal '21-
Zach Lane '19 (8-2). Grinnell finished off the win with victories at Nos. 5 and 6 singles with Tibrewal (6-2, 6-2) and Kaslow (6-1, 6-1).

Earlier in the day, Grinnell sailed past Monmouth College after getting doubles wins by the teams of Stickels-Conlin-Brandenburg (8-3), Cobin-Kaslow (8-4) and Lane-Tibrewal (8-2). The victory was finished off when Stickels won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 and Cobin posted a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3.

Play now moves to the individual variety at the tournament, as the MWC singles event is Saturday and the doubles Sunday.
