Grinnell men's tennis team's stellar season comes to a close with loss to nationally-ranked Gustavus Adolphus

ST. PETER, Minn. – Grinnell College's stellar men's tennis season came to an end Friday with a 5-0 loss to nationally-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
 
Grinnell, making its 12th consecutive trip to the NCAAs, finishes its campaign with a 23-5 mark. That marks the fifth-most wins in school history for the Central Region's No. 14 team. Gustavus Adolphus, ranked first in the Central Region and eighth nationally, improved to 24-8.
 
Grinnell's doubles teams lost 8-3 at the top spot with Sam Stickels '19 and Michael Conlin-Brandenburg '21, 8-6 at No. 2 with Ben Cobin '20 and George Kaslow '21 and 8-2 at No. 3 with Zach Lane '19 and Ishaan Tibrewal '21.
 
Lane lost 6-2, 6-1 at the top singles spot and Cobin lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.
 
Cobin finished with 25 doubles wins this season, eighth most in Pioneer history. Tibrewal had 26 singles wins, sixth-best for the Pioneers, and Cobin had the 17th-most with 22.
