GALESBURG, Ill. - Grinnell College's men's soccer team went toe-to-toe with Knox College and held an edge in shots in the second half, but the Prairie Fire eked out a 1-0 victory Saturday afternoon in Midwest Conference play. 
 
The lone goal of the game came in the 32nd minute as the Prairie Fire moved to 4-1 in the MWC and 9-3-2 overall.  
 
Although outshot 12-8 for the game, Grinnell held a 6-5 edge in that department during the second half. Mikoto Kobayashi '20 and Jasper Yang '21 each had two shots for the Pioneers, who are 0-4-1 in the league and 4-8-1 in all games. Kyle Buse '20, Sam Naik '21, Matias Bambi '23 and Henry Cladouhos '22 each added one shot. 
 
Grinnell keeper Jared Cloutier '20 recorded four saves in the contest. 
 
The Pioneers will attempt to get back into the win column next Saturday when Ripon College visits Springer Field. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
