LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – Grinnell College's men's tennis team stayed perfect on the season, winning a pair of matches Friday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Tournament.

The Pioneers, who got four wins on the day from both
Sam Stickels '19 and
Ben Cobin '20, knocked off Wheaton College 8-1 and followed with a 6-3 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University to move to 4-0.

Grinnell swept doubles play in both matches.
Bowen Mince '22 and Cobin won 8-5 against Wheaton and 8-6 in the Ohio Wesleyan match. Stickels and
Michael Conlin-Brandenburg '21 won 8-5 and 8-2, while
Zach Lane '19 and
George Kaslow '21 posted wins of 8-7 and 8-2.

In singles against Wheaton, Grinnell won at the Nos. 2 through 6 spots with Lane (6-3, 6-4), Stickels (6-2, 6-2), Cobin (6-2, 6-4),
Cole Hagerman '22 (6-0, 6-0) and Conlin-Brandenburg (7-5, 6-1). Against Ohio Wesleyan, Stickels won 6-2, 6-1, Cobin earned a 2-6, 6-2, 10-5 come-from-behind win and Conlin-Brandenburg posted a 6-2, 6-4 victory.

With Friday's performance, Stickels moved to 18th on the Pioneers' all-time doubles win list with 63. The tourney continues Saturday, with Grinnell facing the host school.
