GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's men's tennis team completed Midwest Conference/MWC South Division play with an unblemished record for the 19th season in a row with a pair of easy wins Sunday.

Playing as a split squad, the Pioneers shut down Knox College 9-0 at the Bear Center Field House and later added an 8-1 victory at Cornell College. That pushed Grinnell to 8-0 in the MWC and 22-4 overall. The overall win total ranks ninth in program history.

Sunday's wins provided the Pioneers their 97th MWC win in a row while extending their string of overall victories against league foes to 153, dating back to 2003. The league winning streak is among the longest in all of NCAA Division III. Additionally, Grinnell has now won 13 of its last 14 matches.

Four Pioneers were double winners against Cornell –
Sam Stickels '19,
Ben Cobin '20,
Michael Conlin-Brandenburg '21 and
Jack Lunn '20. Stickels and Conlin-Brandenburg won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles,
Zach Lane '19 teamed with
George Kaslow '21 to win 8-0 at No. 2 and Cobin and Lunn were an 8-1 winner at No. 3.

Bowen Mince '22 won 6-2, 6-4 at the top singles spot. Winners at Nos. 3 through 6 were Stickels (6-1, 6-1), Cobin (6-1, 7-6), Conlin-Brandenburg (6-0, 6-2) and Lunn (6-0, 6-1).
Stickels ranks ninth at Grinnell in career doubles wins with 79 and Lane is 23rd with 54. In singles, Cobin is 16th in career victories with 60.

The win over Knox marked Grinnell's sixth shutout of the season in MWC play. Double winners were
Ishaan Tibrewal '21,
Henry Johnson '20 and
Lucas LeDoux '19. The Pioneers opened the match with a trio of 8-0 shutouts in doubles with the teams of Tibrewal-
Raghu Inturi '20,
Nick Alex '20-LeDoux and
Arlo Detmer '20-Johnson.

Singles winners, in order, were Tibrewal (6-1, 6-0), Johnson (6-1, 6-0), LeDoux (6-2, 6-1),
Steven Chen '22 (6-1, 6-1),
Pranjal Drall '20 (6-0, 6-3) and
Edward Lopatto '20 (6-0, 6-1).
