MANKATO, Minn. – Taking the pitch for the third time in four days, Grinnell College's men's soccer team battled to a 1-0 lead over Bethany Lutheran College early in the second half.
But the host Vikings rebounded, scoring three goals between the 63rd and 68th minutes to come away with a 3-1 non-conference win Saturday.
Grinnell, which outshot the Vikings 17-13 and held an 11-7 edge in corner kicks, got its goal in the 47th minute. On the play,
Mikoto Kobayashi '20 delivered a corner kick into
Jasper Yang '21, who sent the ball into the net for his second goal in as many days.
It was the 18th goal of Yang's career and the assist was Kobayashi's team-high fourth of the season and 14th of his career.
Yang fired off six of Grinnell's shots in the game, including three on goal. Kobayashi added three shots and
Noah Guyton '23 and
Ray Goedeker '22 added two apiece.

Grinnell, 3-3 on the season, returns to Springer Field Monday when Iowa Wesleyan University visits for a 5 p.m. test. Bethany Lutheran improved to 3-2.
