Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Ted Schultz

Defense is the name of the game again for GC women's soccer team

BELOIT, Wis. - The Grinnell College defense again proved itself super stingy in a 0-all tie with Beloit College Saturday.

The shutout, Grinnell's third of the season, was sparked by solid defense and a strong goal keeping effort by Elinor Arneson '23 and Hannah Malicky '22. Arneson made six saves in 45 minutes and Malicky added five the rest of the way.

Grinnell, 1-1-2 in the Midwest Conference and 2-8-2 overall, fired off nine shots with Francesca Dalla Betta '22 getting four of those. Adding one shot each were Alyssa Radakovich '22, Keiko Smith '25, Reese Komsthoeft '25, Antarah Chopra '23 and Julia Sheehan-Klenk '23.

With the tie, Beloit is 1-1-2 in the MWC and 4-3-4 overall.

Grinnell returns to Springer Field Tuesday when Monmouth College visits for a MWC test. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m.
