That was the story for the Grinnell College men's tennis team, which rolled up a 9-0 shutout over Illinois College Sunday afternoon.Â

Grinnell's dominance was on display as three singles players and two doubles teams posted shutouts. Earning 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles were the first-year trio ofÂ
Leo Esztergomi '24 at No. 2,Â
Jonah Gilmore '24 at the third spot and
Henry Bridgers '24 at No. 5.Â
Bowen Mince '22 won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1,
Paul Elghouayel '24 won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and
Simon Kennel '23 won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.Â

Mince and Estergomi won 8-0 at the top doubles spot, as did Gilmore and Kennel at No. 2. Bridgers and
Charles Yung '24 earned an 8-1 decision at No. 3.Â

Grinnell remained perfect at 2-0 in both the Midwest Conference South Division and overall. The Blueboys dipped to 0-2 in the league and 0-11 in all matches.Â

Grinnell returns to the home court Tuesday when Cornell College visits for a 4 p.m. match.Â
