GRINNELL, Iowa – With a shutout win over Cornell College Saturday afternoon, Grinnell College's men's tennis team inched ever closer to extending it lengthy Midwest Conference title streak.

Grinnell, winner of 16 consecutive MWC crowns, rolled past the Rams 9-0 in a match moved indoors due to excessive winds. The Pioneers improved to 8-0 as they prepare to play in the MWC Tournament title match next weekend against either Lake Forest College or St. Norbert College. Cornell finished at 10-9.

The Pioneers posted shutouts at five of the nine spots, including 8-0 wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles.
Michael Conlin-Brandenburg '21 and
Ishaan Tibrewal '21 celebrated Senior Day by being part of the 2 and 3 squads, respectively.
Jonah Gilmore '24 joined Conlin-Brandenburg and
Henry Bridgers '24 teamed with Tibrewal.
Bowen Mince '22 and
Leo Esztergomi '24 added an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.

Grinnell was sparked by the bottom half of its lineup in singles, as Tibrewal,
Paul Elghouayel '24 and
Simon Kennel '23 all posted 6-0, 6-0 shutouts at Nos. 4 through 6. Mince won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1, Conlin-Brandenburg added a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 2 and Gilmore won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3.

Conlin-Brandenburg moved up Grinnell's career victory list during the day. He has 64 career doubles wins, which is 17
th in Pioneer history, and his 50 singles wins rank 24
th.
