DUBUQUE, Iowa – After a nearly two-year layoff, the Grinnell College women's soccer team jumped back into action Wednesday and gave the University of Dubuque all it could handle.
But in the end, a goal in the 30th minute was the only difference as the Spartans eked out a 1-0 win on its home field.
Elinor Arneson '23 was impressive in taking over keeper duties from the graduated
Elizabeth Hunt '21, recording eight saves while working an entire game.
Grinnell managed eight shots in the game, with
Reese Komsthoeft '25 and
Giada Bambi '25 each taking two in their collegiate debuts and
Alyssa Radakovich '22,
Julia Sheehan-Klenk '23,
Jane March '24 and
Carlie Duus '24 getting one off apiece.
Grinnell has its home opener next Wednesday when Coe College visits Springer Field for a 4:30 p.m. test.
