DECORAH, Iowa – Taking her team on a trip to her alma mater, Grinnell College women's soccer coach Kirsten Koester's Pioneer squad gave Luther College a thrilling battle. 
 
But a Norse goal in the 16th minute held up as Luther (3-4) came away with a 1-0 victory. 
 
Grinnell keeper Elinor Arneson '23 had a strong game in goal, making five saves. The Pioneers took five shots in the contest, those coming from Alyssa Radakovich '22, Anna Engelhardt '22, Giada Bambi '25, Allison Wehrmann '24 and Jill Paladino '23. 
 
Grinnell (1-5) has another tough non-conference bout Wednesday when the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater visits Springer Field. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m.
