All-Sports points are awarded on a 9-8-7, etc. basic in all sports.  For soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball and tennis, places are determined by regular-season standings. In football and baseball, places are determined by finish, skipping over affiliate member Chicago. Standings in all other sports are determined by points earned at the sports championship meet.
Grinnell was aided by balance, scoring the maximum nine points in just two sports – tennis and swimming and diving. The Pioneers garnered eight points in volleyball, cross country and outdoor track and field, seven in softball and six in indoor track and field.
Â
